Samuel Howarth Limelight Automation Director
From an early age I’ve been fascinated with sound and technology, both of my parents worked for the BBC my mother worked in light entertainment and my father worked as a radio producer and it’s from them that this fascination materialized. Tape machines, mini disc recorders, microphones and apple computers were all present growing up so when it came to making a career choice it seemed both natural and logical to work within the realms of sound, vision and technology.
After I graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with 2:1 honors in Audio Technology I ventured into the world of live sound working as a freelance sound engineer and rigger for a number of different companies. Tired of all the late shifts and the ever increasing threat of tinnitus I decided to look into another path and by chance came across a CEDIA rep who enlightened me on the world of custom installation and home automation. I put my CV on CEDIA’s website and ended up working for a custom install company for 2 and a half years and this I where I met Adam – frustrated with the lack of progression and poor management in our current employment we took the decision to form Limelight Automation and haven’t looked back since!
Passionate about all forms of technology I very much enjoy exploring and learning new technology platforms and utilizing these into our business practice at Limelight.
I am also a qualified electrician and studied in my spare time taking an evening course to achieve a city and guilds 2330 elecrotechnical certification qualification and 2391 inspection and testing qualification in 2013.
In my spare time I enjoy playing Golf, Djing, music production, long walks and bike rides with my extremely patient and understanding girlfriend!
